‘Welcome home, to Russia!’ says Medvedev
Russian leader Putin wants to see the voting result of the referendum. But the rest of the world is worried about nuclear wars as Putin intensified the threat.
Indeed, it adds another layer to the troubling stock markets when both Dow Jones and S&P 500 indexes made a fresh 52-week low. Major indexes got ugly year-to-date performance in the last week of September: DJIA -20%, S&P 500 -23%. Nasdaq -31%.
If the war between Russia-Ukraine escalates further, then it will give a strong punch to the already fragile markets. However, while Russia is losing the battle, it would be also difficult to see what other choices Putin has.
We can only wait and see.
