Technology rebounds today with about +2% up in the Nasdaq index. Many technology mega names appear in the leading list: TSLA, AAPL, MSFT. But we will focus on semiconductors in this article.
Semiconductors include NVDA, AMD, AMAT. KLAC, LRCX, MU. etc as shown which covers designs and equipment.
Demands for semiconductor chips are very strong from all industries like cars, appliances, as well as phones, computers, networks, and everywhere. It creates a shortage of chips and causes delays of shipments. We believe this situation will continue for the rest of 2021 or even further.
Therefore, it makes sense to have some semiconductors in the portfolio. Some big names are strong like AMAT, KLAC, LRCX, ASML. We picked a smaller stock AMKR (6 billion market cap) because of upcoming projects in Arizona from TSMC and Intel.
