When you do not feel safe or do not know what is ahead of you, defensive actions are the best choices. This is exactly what happened to stock markets today after few weeks of up and down.
Utilities, REIT, and consumer staples sectors become the leading sectors to show how institutional investors handle the current environment.
On the other hand, we see offensive stocks cool down quickly after one day wonder like TSLA, AAPL, etc.
Indeed, COVID-19 cases rise up quickly both in the US, Europe and Brazil. Vaccines are available to more people but they cannot compete with the speed of spring break parties like in Miami beach. Hundred and thousands of people were gathering and drinking without masks. So, it is worth of worry that re-opening may bring back another massive death toll.
